When you and your children walk through our doors, you will be greeted by our friendly staff and welcomed into our colorful and open reception area. This is a fun and bright environment that is designed to keep kids feeling comfortable and happy. We also have a TV tuned to kid-friendly shows and movies for your little ones to enjoy and a special prize machine to reward kids after their visit.
Our treatment rooms are designed to keep your child as comfortable as possible throughout their appointment. Each room has a ceiling TV so your kids can enjoy watching their favorite shows and movies on Netflix, Disney Plus, Prime Video and more. Each room is also equipped with laughing gas, to help keep anxious children calm. Our rooms feature adjoining pocket doors, so a parent can be with more than one child at the same time during treatment.
We have two different family treatment areas featuring 3 chairs each. These spaces are great for preventative care or orthodontic visits for the family. Each family treatment area is separated by a translucent barrier that extends up to the ceiling.
Our cozy infant consult room is specially designed for parents with babies under the age of 2. This room features a cushioned bench for parents and their child instead of a traditional dental chair that may feel intimidating at this age. This room also offers privacy so parents are able to nurse or give their child a bottle without distractions. We also offer three additional consultation rooms for when conversations in private may be needed.
At Children's Dental Specialties, we believe that in order to provide our patients with the highest-quality dental care, we must offer the most innovative and modern technology. This technology allows us to provide the safest and least invasive dental treatments for your children.
We offer many advanced digital x-ray options including intraoral x-ray, panoramic x-ray and 3D CBCT (cone beam computed tomography) scans. This technology uses less radiation than traditional x-rays and helps us provide a more accurate diagnosis and treatment plan.
Our 3D intraoral video camera is able to scan your mouth digitally instead of using messy impression materials and trays. This makes it easier and faster to fabricate custom oral appliances such as space maintainers, retainers, nightguards, mouthguards and orthodontic appliances.
Using innovative laser technology allows us to perform surgical procedures with the most accuracy and precision possible. Many parents are much more comfortable with having their child's lip and tongue tie release procedures performed with laser technology rather than with a traditional scalpel. This technology can also reduce healing time for patients.
All treatment rooms as well as the family treatment areas and reception area have medical grade air purifiers that filter the air multiple times each hour every day. These hospital grade purifiers remove odors, gases, mold, allergens and viruses and filter 99.998% of particles.
All used instruments are kept in stainless steel surgical cassettes and washed in an instrument washer before being wrapped in sterilization paper and sterilized in one of our 4 autoclaves. The autoclaves are tested every week to make sure they pass safety standards. This minimizes physical handling of contaminated instruments, which creates a safer work environment and allows our team to focus on you and your child.
We have implemented advanced safety protocols to help keep patients safe from Covid-19 exposure. When patients arrive at our office, we ask that they contact us from their vehicle first for an over the phone "covid screening". We then meet patients at the front door, where temperatures are taken and hand sanitizer is dispensed before escorting them to their designated treatment area.
Inside the office, we are strictly following all protocols and recommendations set forth by the CDC and the Massachusetts Dental Society. All treatment room surfaces are cleaned between patients and common areas are cleaned and disinfected multiple times per day. During treatment, our clinical team wears fit tested N95 masks covered by surgical masks, as well as surgical caps, gloves, face shields, surgical gowns/lab coats. Our clinical team also has designated shoes and uniforms that are left at the office and laundered in-office on a sterilization cycle.
